Job Title: Project SEARCH Skills Trainer

Job Description: Project SEARCH is an employment training program for students with developmental disabilities. Provides specialized employment for people with disabilities, training on an individual basis; assisting with job coaching, job development, job placement, and on-site training and assessment for persons with disabilities. Main focus, responsibility is to network with employers, community agencies (Vocational Rehabilitation and School District) to ensure a broad base of resources and creating linkages necessary to meet the unique needs of this population. This position will provide services in a manner which allows each young adult to be treated with respect, dignity and allows for individual success. This Project SEARCH position is based at Shore Point Hospital in Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte.

Education:
Minimum Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in job coaching and employment training for persons with disabilities preferred. Experience and life skills may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree with the approval of the Executive Director. Must meet Vocational Rehabilitation requirements for employment.

Other Skills:
Good organizational, presentation and communication skills both oral and written are required. Ability to be a team player and assist with other duties when Project SEARCH is on breaks. Familiarity with American with Disabilities Act, amendments and tax credits that an employer would be eligible for when employing a person with a disability. Ability to work independently offsite yet remain an active team member with CIL staff. Should have working knowledge of Social Security Disability and Social Supplemental insurance income programs and benefits. Minorities and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
